In a proud moment for the nation, Jahnavi Dangeti, a young space enthusiast from Andhra Pradesh, has become the first Indian to successfully complete NASA’s International Air and Space Program (IASP).
This milestone places her among an elite group of students globally who have experienced hands-on astronaut training at one of the world’s most advanced space camps in Alabama, USA.
What is the NASA IASP?
The International Air and Space Program (IASP) is an advanced five-day training initiative hosted by NASA and AEXA Aerospace. Participants undergo intense astronaut training including:
- Zero gravity simulations
- Rocket system design
- Space station mission planning
- Rover building
- Real-time crisis management
Only a limited number of students worldwide are selected each year.
Who is Jahnavi Dangeti?
Jahnavi is a space science student and passionate STEM advocate.
She previously served as a mission director for Team India in the International Moon Mission 2021 and is a youth ambassador for space education programs across India.
She credits her success to “relentless curiosity, community support, and a dream to someday step foot on the Moon or Mars.”
